Zhitian has developed the ZT818 cobalt-based tungsten carbide alloy liner, manufactured via cold isostatic pressing. Lab tests have demonstrated that its wear resistance exceeds that of HSS 6542 by over 20 times. This solution offers an excellent balance of wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and mechanical strength, making it suitable for the harshest extrusion environments.

2. Rising Cost of High-Performance Alloys

As extruder sizes increase, using solid alloy liners in barrels becomes increasingly expensive, especially for large machines with diameters ranging from 65mm to over 320mm.

Zhitian's Solution:
By applying a 1–2mm nickel-based tungsten carbide alloy layer to the barrel inner wall through laser cladding, Zhitian achieves both enhanced performance and cost savings. This method reduces machining steps, ensures a strong metallurgical bond, and provides long-term stability. The larger the extruder, the more significant the cost advantage.
